Leeds face
administration
The knock-on effects of Leeds Uniteds impending relegation
from the Coca-Cola Championship could be felt swiftly as Gerald
Krasner, the previous chairman at Elland Road, predicted that the
club could be placed in the hands of administrators early next
week.
Only a nine-goal swing on the final day of the season, when Leeds
play away to Derby County, will save the Yorkshire club from a drop
that Krasner believes would not be the end of their problems.
Krasner, a specialist in corporate insolvency, said: In my
professional opinion, Im 90 per cent sure that, before next
Tuesday, Leeds will be in administration unless a white knight
comes along.
Falling into administration would necessitate a docking of ten
points even before the club attempt to bounce back from League One
next season. Krasners consortium rescued Leeds from almost certain
administration in March 2004 when securing a £22 million takeover
of the club. But they could not save Leeds from relegation from the
Barclays Premiership.
