Mourinho: Bring on the
Kop
JOSE MOURINHO looked ahead to a possible Champions League semi with
Liverpool and roared: Bring it on. Mourinhos Chelsea will play the
Kop if the two Premiership sides beat Valencia and PSV in their
respective quarter-finals. And the Blues manager said: If it is us
against Liverpool in the last four, I would sign that contract
right now.
While Mourinho is looking ahead, Anfield boss Rafa Benitez refuses
to even think about the prospect of Chelsea until his sides tie
against PSV is over.He said: Im sure the supporters will be happy
with the draw but we dont want to make the same mistake as last
year when went out against Benfica. Then, everyone was saying wed
go through but they beat us home and away.
Yet skipper Steven Gerrard, fresh from leading the Reds to victory
over holders Barcelona, warned the Blues his side are even stronger
now than when they knocked them out at the semi-final stage two
years ago.
He said: Were taking it one game at a time but Im confident we
can go all the way, the two legs against Barca proved that. I
think the squad now is stronger and better than 2005. I dont want
to appear over-confident or tempt fate but theres a buzz about the
city similar to two years ago.
This fellow just likes to talk
big... If Chelsea was leading the Premiership table right now i
wonder what more he will say...
