NEVILLER 'AXED' FOR FULHAM GAME
Gary Neville was reportedly forced to travel down to London just to
be told he was dropped by Sir Alex Ferguson.
According to The Sun, Neville travelled to London expecting to face
Fulham on Saturday lunchtime, only to be told he was being dropped
as punishment for his rant at Ferguson during the Champions League
clash with Lille.
Neville was incensed with his manager for telling him not to get
involved when Lille players were threatening to walk off the pitch
and his tirade was captured on TV.
Ferguson tried to explain Neville's absence from the team that
played Fulham by citing the height of the Cottagers' players, but
reports now suggest it was a punishment. It remains to be seen
whether Neville will return for the FA Cup replay against
Reading.
