Figo warns Ronaldo over future
Luis Figo has lavished praise on Cristiano Ronaldo, but feels he
may have to consider his club future to fully realise his
ambitions.
The 22-year-old has enjoyed a fantastic season for Manchester
United and is widely tipped to walk away with the PFA Player of the
Year award.
However, speculation about his future has been almost as prevalent
as his fine form, with stories linking him to both Real Madrid and
Barcelona refusing to go away.
Figo, who played for and enjoyed success with both Spanish giants,
is full of admiration for Ronaldo's current exploits, but feels he
should think long and hard about who he commits his long-term
future to.
"Cristiano Ronaldo is the Portuguese player with the best future in
the European market," Figo stated.
"He could go very far, but he will have to pay attention to the
club he chooses to play for.
"In individual terms I think Cristiano could win every title going
because he has the quality to do so. But equally I think it depends
on the club where he is at to live up to his standards."
