We'll
fight for Hargreaves
BAYERN MUNICH have issued another hands-off warning to Alex
Ferguson over Owen Hargreaves.
The German giants insist Hargy will not be going to Manchester
United in the January transfer window. But he could leave at the
end of the season.
Bayern president Franz Beckenbauer hinted the England midfielder
would move to Old Trafford in January if United came up with
£20million for him. But sporting director Uli Hoeness told a German
newspaper a switch was not on the cards.
When asked if he would let Hargy go, Hoeness said: Definitely not
in this winter transfer window. Well have to wait and see about
everything else. Were working on putting together a new team for
next season. And, at some point, the question will be raised
whether Owen is indispensable. In any event, weve got all the
aces.
Hargreaves, 25, broke his leg in September but is on the mend. He
wants a move after United boss Fergie made a bid to sign him
following the World Cup, despite only recently signing a new deal
to stay until 2010.
