FA to interview Howard over Emre racial abuse allegations
The Football Association is seeking to interview Tim Howard as it
investigates allegations that the Newcastle midfielder Emre
Belozoglu racially abused the Everton goalkeeper and his black
team-mates during last Saturday's Premiership game at Goodison
Park.
The referee, Dermot Gallagher, who oversaw the hosts' 3-0 win, did
not hear the comments alleged to have been made by the Turkey
midfielder following the award of a penalty to the visitors
immediately before half-time. However he has included mention of
the claims, believed to have come from Howard, that racist abuse
was made in his match report submitted to Soho Square.
