Villa today launched a search for temporary goalkeeping cover
after Stuart Taylor underwent knee surgery, ruling him out of the
festive campaign.
The former England Under-21 keeper sustained the injury in the
closing stages of Monday's 2-2 draw at Sheffield United.
Villa No1 Thomas Sorensen is still sidelined with a knee injury,
meaning Martin O'Neill does not currently have a fit keeper with
Premiership experience.
As a consequence, the Premier League have given O'Neill permission
to recruit a keeper on loan.
