Blackburn vs Newcastle
Blackburn: Francis Jeffers hopes of making a
Premiership comeback from injury have been dashed after he broke
down again in training. Jeffers missed the midweek defeat at
Charlton and had hoped to have recovered from a groin injury but
suffered a recurrence. Tugay is expected to be restored to the
starting line-up but Brett Emerton (hamstring), Zurab Khizanishvili
(groin), and long-term absentees Steven Reid, Jason Roberts and
Ryan Nelsen are all out as well.
Squad: Friedel, Brown, Neill, Ooijer, Todd, Gray, Henchoz,
McEveley, Bentley, Tugay, Mokoena, Savage, Peter, Pedersen, Nonda,
McCarthy, Gallagher.
Newcastle: Midfielder Kieron Dyer will miss the
trip despite returning to training today. But the 27-year-old has
been pencilled in to play against Watford next weekend after being
given the go-ahead to resume following his thigh injury. Damien
Duff has also started light training following knee surgery, but
Stephen Carr (foot), Titus Bramble (calf), Scott Parker (back
muscle), Michael Owen and Tim Krul (both knee), Shola Ameobi and
Olivier Bernard (both hip), Craig Moore (hamstring) and Steve
Harper (groin) are still out.
Squad: Given, Srnicek, Solano, Taylor, Ramage, Huntington,
Babayaro, Butt, Emre, NZogbia, Milner, Pattison, Troisi, Gate,
Edgar, Martins, Sibierski, Luque, Rossi, Carroll.
