Tottenham came back from a goal down to earn their first league win over Chelsea since 1990 thanks to an impressive goal from Aaron Lennon.

The visitors took the lead when Claude Makelele fired in a superb half-volley. The holding midfielder is not renowned as a potent threat to goal but, on this occasion, he connected beautifully and It left Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho grinning from ear to ear.

Spurs - who had last beaten Chelsea at home in the league in 1987 came back when Michael Dawson brought Spurs back into the match with a well-placed header, before Lennon capitalised on Robbie Keane's good work with a crisp finish.

With seven minutes of the half gone, Keane dazzled substitute Khalid Boulahrouz, who came on for Paulo Ferreira, and fired in a great cross into the area that was controlled and then coolly finished by the diminutive Lennon.

It was fantastic technique from the England star and was just reward for his valiant work. Chelsea began to look more desperate as Spurs grew in confidence and that anxiety resulted in fouls committed. Chelsea were reduced to 10 men when John Terry picked up a second booking over an incident with Pascal Chimbonda

For the Blues this proved costly when Terry was shown his second yellow and sent off for what seemed like an altercation with Chimbonda.

Actually in the first half he and Lampard should have had a yellow already... But the referee didn't give... Lampard foul on Chimbonda was very obvious... but he got away clean.

They said Barce players surround the referee and its bad behaviour but i also saw them doing the same thing last night... Rolling Eyes

clearest foul last night wasn't in that match... it was in the arsenal match where Hleb was hacked down clearly in front of the ref... in the penalty area too! Laughing

nothing was given.. some more, the ref wave play on and waved Hleb to get up...

the replay showed Hleb putting the ball pass the defender, and then getting his ankles wiped out from under him Razz

Yes, that one should have been a penalty... but i think Hleb went down a bit too theatrical... maybe thats why the referee thought he was "acting".

think yesterday was a happy for Man U fans. Chelsea & Arsenal both beaten. I think all the controversies aside, the ball is round what, sometimes it goes your way, sometimes it doesn't. But it all even out isn't it ?

We have seen and heard how Drogba dived and got away with goals, so this time round, its in a way, pay back time. I think the managers, shld, in a way, take it professionally. Alan Pardew, I feel, is right to celebrate a goal, who wouldn't given his predicament ? And AW, is being a sore loser to lose his cool. Win or lose, you have to face it and move on. See how he is sore as well from last week's draw with Everton.

Same goes for Mourniho, he is never happy, especially when things are not going his way. He moan after the Barca match, he moan after last season's match w/ Tottenham saying they park the team bus and he moan again after this loss. Hey, blame your team lah, dun blame others. If you are that good, you would have scored 2 or 3 past your opponents already.

much as i hope Man Utd will rulez this season, the fact remains that Chelsea is still the team to beat this season, Man Utd may have been the leader now but look at how things change since the begining of the season, they won afew matches and was leading a couple of points from the 2nd team but next min, the pressure piled up and their form flatter as well.. they may have pick themselves up now but unless they bring in a more consistance midfield anchorman and a striker i dun think they can last the pace of EPL let alone that of a Champion league.. but i sure hope i'm wrong thou.. i think the resilience of Man U has yet to be tested fully. results against big & robust teams like Blackburn & Chelsea is truly the litmus test of their championship credentials.

Looking at their flip flop performance against Arsenal & Reading (easy picking) and Copenhagen, I still have lingering doubts. Hopefully they can show themselves against Blackburn and get a win over Chelsea nxt weekend to put some gaps. Their big away games have yet to come - away to Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham, etc, beginning this weekend to Blackburn - which is a potential banana skin for them.

Furthermore, once without their first team players, Man U don't really perform which is worrying because Giggs, Scholes, Neville are not young and one cannot expect them to play in every match. Somewhat, Richardson, Fletcher and O'shea cannot command the midfield. Carrick don't seem to be the player that Keane used to be....hopefully they sign someone good this Jan.
