Croaking_Toad SG Can anyone recommend a language school or a non-profit organisation that teaches thai language here in SG?
ratchadapisek(soi17) SG going to a regular language school is pretty expensive. if you want cheaper lessons, you can try your neighbourhood CC. the only thing is that you have to wait for more people to sign up before any lesson starts.
Croaking_Toad SG Totally agreed. Called a language school. It charges $250 for 10 lessons 25hours. Whereas NUS extension is like $370. I was told one of the siamese temples here does give thai language lessons, any idea which one?
ratchadapisek(soi17) SG i joined a language school. although i agree that its expensive but i really have no complaints about the teacher or the lessons. i don't know anything about the thai temple though.
Croaking_Toad SG I took up your recommendation and did an quick internet search and found by chance a thai class starting soon at the nearby CC at my place, at half the price of a language school. However there's only one level taught, ie. it's not differentiated into different difficulty levels. Furthermore certificate of completion will not be given. That's fine for me as I'm doing this out of interest. If I really get hooked onto the language after this 2 1/2 months course perhaps I may join a language school for higher level studies. Thanks again.
bangkokboy SG Yes, a good way of learning Thai is through the singing of songs. I recommend Silly Fool, Big Ass, Clash, Endorphine, AB Normal, Punch, Palmy and Gear Knight. I personally love Big Ass.. rock!
