LOCAL telcos SingTel and StarHub still cannot meet the asking price
for rights to broadcast the 2010 World Cup.
The Straits Times understands that the latest joint bid by
the telcos was rejected recently by Fifa.
A person familiar with discussions, but who did not want to
be named, said: 'The bids have not been accepted.
Shouldn't FAS, Mediacorp, Sports Council, MDA, Starhub, Singtel
and Government agencies all come together to solve this
problem?
Without a Singapore soccer team in the World Cup by 2010, I can
understand but cannot even watch the Games "live" in Singapore -
Isn't it a Joke. Singapore - World Class! My Singapore, Uniquely
Singapore.
