Liverpool striker Peter Crouch has admitted it was never in his
plans to exit Anfield during the January transfer window.
Crouch's future with Liverpool had some uncertainty hanging over it
a few weeks ago, leading to rumours that the England forward was
about to leave the club.
The 26-year-old was frustrated at manager Rafa Benitez's rotation
policy and at being subbed in the Boxing Day defeat at
Blackburn.
Newcastle reportedly tabled a bid for the forward but Crouch was
reassured by Benitez that his future is with The Reds.
"There was interest but the manager reiterated that I had a future
at Liverpool and that was good enough for me," Crouch told the
Daily Mail.
"It can be frustrating. I wasn't playing as much as I'd have liked
in that period just before January.
"I was frustrated to be taken off at Blackburn when I thought I
could have influenced the game.
"I wasn't surprised about the speculation but I had no intention of
leaving."
