Wolves have completed the permanent signing of Liverpool
midfielder Darren Potter.
Wolves chief Mick McCarthy has handed the Irish youngster a
long-term deal at the Championship side after impressing since
moving to Molineux on loan in August.
Potter leaves Anfield for a reported fee of around £250,000 after
making just 17 first team appearances for The Reds.
Wolves are stepping up their efforts to strengthen in the transfer
window and McCarthy says the club remain in talks to bring
Scunthorpe striker Andy Keogh to the club.
"It is no secret we have been looking at Andy Keogh and would love
to sign him," said McCarthy.
"We made a bid, which was rejected, but the clubs have remained in
discussions."
However, Keogh's current employers insist that discussions with
Wolves have gone cold after the Black Country club had two bids
knocked back for the striker.
"Wolves haven't been in touch for some time now and I cannot second
guess what they plan to do. The player is under contract and we're
not keen to part," said Iron chairman Steve Wharton.
"Wolves made an offer for Keogh and I had a few conversations with
Jez Moxey about 10 days ago, but we rejected a first and second bid
and have heard nothing since."
