Djamel Abdoun is determined to earn himself a permanent deal at
Manchester City in the next four months.
The tricky winger has moved to Eastlands on loan from Ligue 2 side
Ajaccio and City have the option to make the deal permanent should
they wish.
Stuart Pearce recently stated that he was not expecting Abdoun to
make an immediate impression on the Premiership, but the
20-year-old is desperate to shine at City and cement his stay in
England after turning down alternative offers.
"Manchester have signed me, so it is up to me to pay them back for
their confidence," Abdoun told Football365.fr.
"I have to prove my worth in order to make them sign me, I want to
be a Manchester player.
"Since they followed me, I have been watching their performances. I
have seen their good results and that they trust youngsters.
"A number of clubs were interested in me, but I love English
football, its speed.
"Lazio wanted me, Nantes in France."
Abdoun has also told City fans what to expect if he is given a run
in the side, comparing his style of play with that of a certain
Portuguese international plying his trade across Manchester at Old
Trafford.
"I am Cristiano Ronaldo's little brother: I like to dribble,
provoke, I am always on the move," Abdoun continued.
"Ronaldo isn't my only example, I also copy Franck Ribery and
Ronaldinho. When I watch those players, I progress.
"I have to work on the physical aspect, I come to develop my
strength in order to be a complete player."
