Wigan have signed David Unsworth from Premiership rivals
Sheffield United.
Unsworth was out of the picture at Bramall Lane after dropping down
the pecking order in Neil Warnock's plans.
The former Everton man was placed on the transfer list last month
by United and Wigan have moved to offer him an escape route out of
the Yorkshire club by signing him on a free transfer.
The 33-year-old will help provide cover in the Wigan defence with
Andy Webster on the verge of a move to Rangers.
Unsworth becomes Wigan's third signing of the month following the
captures of Kristofer Haestad and Andreas Granqvist.
