Stuart Pearce feels Joey Barton is 'really committed' to
Manchester City.
Ahead of the opening of the transfer window, reports have claimed
that Barton could be on his way out of Eastlands in January.
Barton has a £5.5million release clause in his contract and
Newcastle United and West Ham United, along with boyhood heroes
Everton, have been linked with a bid.
The midfielder's agent has told skysports.com he is unaware of any
offers and insists the England hopeful is happy at City.
Pearce believes Barton's performances demonstrate his contentment
at the club and he praised his charge's form this season.
"Joey's come a long way this season," Pearce told the club's
official website.
"This time last year he'd had a great first half of the season and
perhaps the contract negotiations distracted him.
"I've noticed a great change in Joey. Joey wants to play at this
football club and is enjoying his time here.
"He's already scored five goals this season and we'd quite like him
to get into double figures.
"Joey is really committed to Manchester City."
