Ghana midfielder Stephen Appiah claims he rejected offers from
Arsenal and Barcelona in the summer.
The Fenerbahce ace says he attracted the interest of both clubs
after impressing at the World Cup in Germany.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is thought to be an admirer of the
former Juventus man, while Barca were in the market for a new
midfielder after selling Mark van Bommel
However, Appiah says he turned down the overtures of both clubs to
stay at Fenerbahce after joining the club at the start of last
season.
"At the start of the season I received offers to move," Appiah told
Sport.
"Among them were clubs as important as Barcelona and Arsenal.
"I had to say to all of them that, no, I preferred to stay at
Fenerbahce.
"Barca and Arsenal made me very attractive offers."
