The Portuguese tactician believes with the injuries he has in
his squad the two-time champions are not at their free-flowing
best.
Chelsea were close to dropping points at Everton before two superb
strikes from Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba gave The Blues the
points.
The win moved Chelsea within two points of Manchester United,
although Mourinho would have been happy being two wins away from
the league leaders.
"If you can't play great music, then you must at least play some,"
stated Mourinho. "That is what we are doing at this moment.
"In great moments, teams play great football and score great goals.
Everything rolls on. The first chance you create, you score. You go
on to the pitch and everything is shining, there are flowers and
blue sky.
"We are not in that situation just now. We have players injured and
we are hitting the post at least twice in every game.
"If we were six points behind I would be happy. The important thing
is that we are there."
