PSP dilemma

I don't know whether to get a PSP or not. I definitely want one to play games, but I heard that firmware changing may spoil the PSP and it's very troublesome to set the PSP to custom firmwares etc. I need some advice so I decided to turn to pro PSP users here. Please help. Thanks Very Happy

Heys, yes it can be troublesome if you DIY it. IMO go to shops that sell you sets that are already downgraded. Very Happy

why wanna downgrade? i thought is better to upgrade so that can play iso?

haha depends, you can downgrade to 1.5 or upgrade to the newer versions that are hacker enabled ect 3.10 OE-A Wink

People tell you that downgrading firmware is dangerous and troublesome? YES! Downgrading it YOURSELF is VERY dangerous and will spoil your PSP if you do it wrong. Just ask the shop owner to downgrade for you or get someone who is a professional in downgrading it. Its just like driving a car. If you are trying to learn how to drive a car by yourself without any instructor or help, of cos its dangerous. But if you got a instructor, its would be fine.

Once I upgrade to a custom firmware, can I still switch to others without bricking the PSP? Surprised

Why would you still want to switch it? If you are buying a PSP, you must get the latest firmware which can downgrade. After downgrade, there is no point to switch it back to the upgrade anymore. The upgrade and downgrade has not much difference except the downgrade enables you to play downloaded games.

ya.... unless u do s/w upgrades lor...some upgrades r essential bt nt all....
