Sorry, i didnt got this up yest as i wasnt available.
A TAM A320 Skidded off the runway after landing at CGH and crashed
into a TAM warehouse after the pilots apparently attempted a go
around.
Several issues to take note,
News agencies worldwide are paying attention ot various issues such
as
1) The slippery surface at CGH and whether it contributed to the
crash. The runway surface had been just resurfaced not long ago but
work on water-channeling grooves, to reduce the danger of
hydroplaning, had not been completed.
On July 16, a day before the fatal TAM accident, two aircraft were
reported to have had skidding issues on the runway, although the
aircraft successfully landed. [2] That same day a Pantanal Linhas
Aéreas ATR-42, ran off the runway onto the grass in a heavy
downpour and similar conditions. The airport had been closed 18
times in the first quarter due to rain and water accumulation
beyond minimum safety levels.
2) Current worldwide shortage of pilots, which means more hours
needed for pilots log.
It is estimated that all onboard including several on ground have
been killed.
Very sad day in the aviation world.
May all who perished rest in peace.
There were 186 people on board: 180 passengers, 18 of whom were TAM
employees, and 6 crew members.
