Tiger Airways has ordered 50 more Airbus A320 aircraft, bringing
the total fleet to 70.
The airline says this makes it one of the region's largest A320
operators.
The latest order, scheduled for delivery from 2011 onwards, costs
about US$4 billion.
Tiger Airways is one of the largest budget carriers in Southeast
Asia.
It already operates a fleet of nine A320s and, before the latest
announcement, has 11 on order for delivery by 2010.
The A320s will be deployed on the airline's network in Southeast
Asia.
It will also include Tiger Airways' new domestic services within
Australia, set to start later this year. - CNA/ch
