Descartes is perhaps the most misunderstood western philosopher.

This might be interesting for you, "I AM" being the primal, primordial reality of Descartes, that all religions - hindu, christian, muslim, taoist, etc etc, and all mystic traditions, and vedanta (hindu non duality) talk about.

(Though in Buddhism we are still more advanced than that, because 'I AM' still fall into the fault of the duality of eternalism and nihilism, there is not necessarily the insight of true non duality which Ken Wilber did mention later as well)

Pretty much the same way as Eric Cartman did Laughing Nah, just kidding. I became a Buddhist at two years old when I took refuge.. became more interested about 3, 4 years ago and thats when I started to visit my dharma center regularly.
