The Ghana international spent much of last week on trial at
Ewood Park, with his current club IK Start, resigned to letting the
highly-rated 22-year old leave the club.
Despite impressing during his stay in Lancashire, Rovers manager
Paul Ince refused to conclude a deal while he continued his other
transfer pursuits, prompting Annan to opt to leave the club and try
to tempt other English clubs into signing him.
And Wenger, who has seen the likes of Mathieu Flamini, Alexsander
Hleb and Gilberto Silva leave the Emirates Stadium this summer, has
offered the player a trial at Arsenal with a view to a permanent
deal.
Annan is likely to cost around £1.5 million, an amount that Wenger
can more than finance with the remainder of his transfer
budget.
