Accident... need advise

yeah... the taxi was red n white taxi. nope, i'm not a p-plate driver, have my license for a few yrs already. but the car in front of mine is p-plate n rear...

i've juz been involved in an accident.
need some advise from u guys. wat happened was there was a stationary car in front of me n my car was stationary too due to the congestion on the expressway. suddenly, a taxi juz rammed the back of my car.
the impact pushed my car forward n caused my car to hit the stationary car in front of my car. Rolling Eyes

1) wanna check wif u all, how much will this accident affect my insurance (NCD n such)?
2) can i safely say that i'm not at fault at all?
3) how many percent do u guys tink i can claim?

get a lawyer lor.. but tt oso increases ur cost lah..but at least the lawyer fights for ur rights. if not u nvr noe how the other party may manipulate the situation

my car was towed to a workshop n they hired a lawyer for me.
they claimed that i dun have to pay a single cent at all n gave me a car to drive while awaiting repairs for my car.

does such gd deals exist? i'm rather sceptical... Confused

the workshop told me everything will be claimed from the taxi's insurance, wont involve my insurance at all. i was wondering how true is that...

they said the repair cost, car replacement cost n towing will all be claimed from the taxi's insurance n wont touch my insurance at all n wont affect my NCD n such.

is it a gimmick or wat?

in the case of accident... if someone bang your car, or is at fault.. all the cost or repair will be paid from the other party's insurance company..

so.. your yearly insurance wont increase.. but the other party will..

now the problem is although my car was stationary, the impact caused my car to move forward n hit the car in front.

end result:
- the car in front's real bumper was cracked
- my car's front bumper cracked, rear boot smashed badly
- the taxi's front bumper n engine compartment smashed in

anyway, juz to summarise wat the workshop told me:

- wont affect NCD
- wont involve my car's insurance at all
- hired lawyer for me
- no charges for towing
- no charges for repair cost
- free car to drive while awaiting repair
- able to claim 90% to 100% of the total damage cost
(if cant claim 100%, the workshop will absorb the balance amt)
- all charges to be claimed from the taxi's insurance company
- dun have to pay a single cent for the whole procedure (everything)

oh yah... juz to add...
my car was braking to a halt initially n then came to a halt for abt 1 or 2 sec b4 the taxi rammed my back.
somehow it appears to me that the taxi driver accelerated instead of braking n hit me.

now i c my car i feel so sad... boot is smashed... Crying or Very sad
quite worried abt my car...

It will all be claim from the taxi.
Your NCD will not be involved at all.

How I wish a taxi will bang my butt, I sure will ask the maximum stuff.
Negotiate with the workshop, ask them to help you. Or maybe can even change a new soundsystem inside .
Free upgrades worth up to 1.5k is in your hand, dun waste it.. lolz..
Depending on the damage cost, they can do alot of funny excess to top it up.

Yes it does happens. If they say can't claim 100%, it is mainly due to an over-priced quotations claim.
Let say the actual repair cost is about 8k, when the workshop file for a claim, they will always add in more so in the end they may be claiming for 10k.

But no matter wat, the workshop still wins, they reap the most benefit. Dun bring to car agent, they will not give you free upgrades, if you want, go outside shop, if you are not sure, PM me and I can let you know some contacts. hehe..

There are alot of ways to get the insurance to pay more. It depends on how good the repo with the surveyor is. Coz in the end is the surveyor who will submit the report.

Just need to know that if bring to workshop outside, you can get 1k worth of goodies.

Judging from how you describe the damage, most probably is that front bumper and boot kenna. These 2 does not affect the car drive. As long as never hit the bearing hub, drive shaft, engine, suspension, etc it should be ok.
But 1 thing for sure, you will see 2 colour coating on your car body, unless the paint shop does a very good work. But I dun think so. Ask the workshop help you respray the whole car exterior as a bonous. But no free goodies anymore... Laughing

To ask, if there is a chain accident , says 5 cars, but the practice the last car is at fault. But what if the last car only bang the 4th car, and the rest in front he is not at fault.

The last car jammed brakes and bang only into the 4th car. If this is the car, will there be a case to fight in court ? The damage of the last car is very minimum. which can prove that the small damage cannot cause the chain accident.

Anyone pls advice.
