NICOLAS ANELKA has finally admitted he should never have left
Arsenal.
The Bolton striker quit Gunners in 1999 for a move to Real
Madrid.
But he went from the Bernabeu to Paris St Germain, Liverpool,
Manchester City and Fenerbahce before landing at the Reebok 15
months ago.
Bolton face Manchester United today marooned in the bottom three
22 points behind leaders Arsenal.
And Anelka, 28, admitted: If you look now at the situation Arsenal
are in and look at where I am, then you could say maybe I should
have stayed.
Of course, I would like to play in that team. Which striker
wouldnt like to be part of a team that plays such amazing
football?
But the way they are playing, whos to say Id even get in that
team?
With Bolton struggling, new boss Gary Megson is already bracing
himself for Anelkas NEXT move.
Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City are all weighing up
a January swoop.
Megson said: We have been doing a lot of work watching players
during the international break.
If Nics here for a long time then great and I hope he is.
If not, weve got to make sure that when he leaves it makes us
stronger.
Red Devils boss Alex Ferguson admits he has admired the hitman for
a while.
Fergie said: We have tried to buy Anelka several times.
You always assess players with pace and ability to score and he
comes into that category.
