Following Theo Walcott's impressive performance in Arsenal's second
preseason match, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger said the youngster
looks ready to contribute to the club this season.
We could see [from the match] that we have a lot of hope for Theo
Walcott. He has shown that he is in much better shape than last
year at the same time after the World Cup. Theo has recovered well
from his shoulder injury and he is at an age now where you expect
every month more.
Walcott scored a goal and set up another in Arsenal's 3-0 win and
the youngster who was selected for England's World Cup side before
ever playing for Arsenal is starting to show the skills that caused
Wenger to speak so highly of him.
Now, he'll get more chances to show that for the Gunners.
Theo is in the squad of 20 players. When you want a successful
season, every player will get his share in the number of games he
will play - and Theo can be an important asset for us.
Our future star!!
