Arsenal manager Arsene
Wenger was pleased to secure the three points against Bolton which
puts them in pole position to finish fourth in the
Premiership.
The Gunners looked to be in trouble when Nicolas Anelka fired
Bolton into an 11th minute lead, but goals from Tomas Rosicky and
Cesc Fabregas secured an important victory for the home side.
Wenger's side are now five points clear in the race for the fourth
UEFA Champions League place, to the delight of the French
tactician.
"It was more nervous than I probably would have liked but I'm happy
with the performance of the team, they were tested mentally,"
Wenger told the webstie.
"One-nil down against a good side overall I'm very happy with the
performance, of the mental strength shown, we didn't panic, kept
composure, played well, outplayed Bolton and created chances.
"Overall what was very vital for us was the three points
today."
Wenger is adamant his side have not yet secured a Champions League
spot, but admits they are now close after their 2-1 success.
"Secure, no," he said. "But it is important, it's a big step
forward but it's not enough, we want to take advantage of our game
in hand on Tuesday night against Manchester City."
Meanwhile, the Gunners chief felt it was important to get the
midfield scoring again, and Rosicky and Fabregas duly obliged at
Emirates Stadium.
He added: "It is very important but I feel it is in Rosicky and it
is in Fabregas to score goals and I'm very happy that they got one
because that will give them a needed boost and lift to come back
and score again."
