Arsene Wenger feels
Monday's 0-0 draw with Newcastle will be good for Arsenal's
confidence ahead of next weekend's crucial meeting with
Bolton.
The Gunners brought an end to a dire run of results when claiming a
0-0 draw on Tyneside.
Arsenal were a long way removed from their best, but they can at
least head into next week's meeting with fourth-place rivals Bolton
on the back of a clean sheet.
"We wanted to win the game," Wenger told the website. "But at the
end of the day it was a game we did not want to lose.
"We tried, you could see that, the focus was there, the spirit was
there and we had a good chance to finish them off, but they saved
it and at the end of the day we maybe lacked a bit of
creativity.
"I believe that at the moment, when you are tired, and don't score
as many goals as you want the confidence goes a little.
"When you have disappointments, you need to rebuild the confidence
and today a 0-0 draw is not bad for us."
Arsenal are two points ahead of Bolton and also have a game in hand
and Wenger is looking for victory next week.
"We want to beat them at home and we think we are capable of doing
that," he added. "We want to be in there (Champions League) and we
will focus on giving everything to do it."
