Do us Singaporeans have no Civil and Political rights???

I saw this article on Wikipedia that Singapore has not signed the International Covenant of Civil and Political Rights. While we are among the 22 countries who did not sign it, including Brunei and Malaysia. I feel in order to be a first class nation, like nations from Europe and Japan, our government needs to sign this Covenant.

Only a nation, where it's citizens are treated well and have their rights protected is the mark of a fantastic leadership.

How to sign when it does not benefit them? After signing, they cannot do it freely to attack the oppositions, they cannot anyhow deduct money from us for the trash they implement.

to the people who have nothing better to do, and are pathetic enough to allow politicians to determine their own happiness or lack of it, you need to figure out that politicians are basically leeches and parasites... they need you more than you need them...

You have a point. Unfortunately, in "unique" Singapore the politicians make it such that without them the people will suffer. Sad to say the people are too kiasi kiasu to vote them out.

As it is with them, our life is not getting better. Time to change the ruling party. i hope i will be given a chance to vote.
