Call me cruel, but my take is..........if the children are
willing, why not?
To call child labour a form of exploitation is pretty much a
one-sided argument if we fail to take into account the needs of the
children.
In many cases, the children work to support their families and
especially in Asia, a substantial portion of income actually come
from wages earned by children. To deprive these children of work in
these cases can hence be considered cruel because it cuts
income.
The situation is not helped by the negative images the media tends
to feed us with. "Child labour" is not "child exploitation". But
that's not to say "child exploitation" does not occur.
