Hey guys, I'm wondering about the process of retaking the A
levels. I'm in J2 this year and I really enjoy the prospect of
being able to study at my own pace at home everyday. Not to say I'm
doing so badly in school currently.
If lets say I have flunked my A levels (e.g. CDDD). Can I still
go on to defer my NS and sign up as a private candidate? Lets also
assume that my SPA were all very well done. Do I have to take the
Practical (not the SPA) in conformity to the new standards?(My
batch is the last one taking the SPA)
Comments greatly appreciated. Thanks
Hi limywv, you may want to engage a tutor for your As subject, I
have seen many Os and As retakers, they are very hardworking, but
alas, they depended only on their own efforts and may have no one
to turn to to clarify certain concepts, theories or working and to
build up a systematic plan/schedule for the A level exams. Thus,
often then not, they took up the private candidate and only got
same grade or single grade improvements. It pays better to have
someone experienced to propel you to a good grade for As, and
knowing that this cert is very important as it will be the ticket
to Univ (either overseas or local), if not done properly, the two
years will be wasted efforts as poly diploma will be more sought
after than an A level cert with lacklustre grades.
