soleachip SG Tuesday at the movies. I'll be catching either The Brave One or The Italian tomorrow, am wondering if any of you will be interested. Hehe... though most probably not after my choice in Lust, Caution (which is really very good) and Alpha Dog (it turned out to be rubbish) --- The Italian: 9.30pm show at Orchard Cineleisure Synopsis: Its a pretty tall order to ask a six-year-old to suddenly take on responsibility for his own life. The questions facing Vanya are really tough: does he want to live a comfortable life as an adopted child of a loving family in Italy? After all, for an abandoned Russian child like Vanya it really doesnt sound like a bad option. The genre is drama. I'm watching it for the cinematography under the impression it's a harsher version of Mark Twain's Huckleberry Finn - boy with balls to leave the good life in search of something else. Trailer: http://www.apple.com/trailers/sony/theitalian/trailer/ --- The Brave One no need to introduce. Jodie Foster in a very good role at her best. Just watching it because it's Jodie Foster. The Brave One: 9.45pm at Orchard Cineleisure Synopsis: New York radio host Erica Bain (Jodie Foster) has a life that she loves and a fiancé she adores. All of it is taken from her when a brutal attack leaves Erica badly wounded and her fiancé dead. Unable to move past the tragedy, Erica begins prowling the city streets at night to track down the men she holds responsible. Her dark pursuit of justice catches the publics attention, and the city is riveted by her anonymous exploits. But with the NYPD desperate to find the culprit and a dogged police detective (Terrence Howard) hot on her trail, she must decide whether her quest for revenge is truly the right path, or if she is becoming the very thing she is trying to stop. Genre is action drama. It's nice seeing the 13 yo girl back in Taxi Driver all grown up and taking down the dogs herself. Trailer: http://www.apple.com/trailers/wb/thebraveone/trailer1/ --- Those interested please PM me. Recommend these 2 movies as well if you're thinking about watching it with your friends.
Pion SG The Italian is much more worthwhile to watch out of those two. Personally, I want to watch The Kingdom
soleachip SG Wah since when you become lao pei? Yep you're organizing Beowulf. Angelina Jolie woohoo! I'll watch one and rent the other on DVD. You joining? Come come!
soleachip SG Since there are 2 extra recommendations for The Italian, should be worth the ticket. Had my reservations about the russians after walking out of Daywatch. Thanks!
soleachip SG When auntie was watching dawn of the dead and 28 weeks later you were in nappies lah. Jio all of you to watch planet terror you don't want. That one was power boy. http://www.apple.com/trailers/universal/dawnofthedead/dawn_apple_large2.html Movies this kind of thing ar, you kanah hooked means kanah hooked lah, you'll never stop watching.
^tamago^ SG the italian is a nice show (the boy so clever!) but u better book the seats fast as there are only 67 seats available per session at level 6 hall 6.
soleachip SG They're probably showing it at Hall 6 near the preview lounge as usual, yeah the theatre is small but I'm expecting empty seats due to weekday and obsolete foreign film. Hey is it slow or is it gripping? Any bored moments? I fell asleep when I watched the wind that shook the barley even though it was supposedly decent.
soleachip SG Which means you watched 28 Week Later. Oh man that one was the best in years. It's so full of sh*t and blood, great stuff!
soleachip SG Yep. Just trying to find kakis that's all. I'm sympathetic towards those watching movies alone in the theatres that's why I try avoiding similar fate.
gigabyte14 SG i think im weird again i laugh over gore movies i laughed when i watched house of wax i laughed the loudest when i watch saw 3
^tamago^ SG the screening i went, full house. alright la, ended quite abruptly also. but it's nice ending.
soleachip SG Don't worry mate. I laughed throughout Pathfinder and most supposedly scary Korean/Jap movies. Welcome to the club of the weirdos.
