well.. tell you the truth is that singapore dont. i dont even
need to place any deposit. and please do a full check up before you
say anything.
There is only one case that singtel want his customer to place
desposit before using their service. that is the customer had own
them alot of unpay bill in the past when using their service. the
only thing bad is they dont care who use it.. as long as it your
name, they will make it as you are using it.
let me give you a example.
my friend use to use singtel service. but she alway never pay the
bill and end up owning singtel a few hundred dollar. then she
change to starhub but never pay that unpay bill. so singtel send
her a lawyer letter telling her that if she didn’t pay that
balance, they will have to sue her. so no choice she went to pay up
the balance. and that left a bad record of her. so if she wanna use
back singtel service, she will have to pay a desposit as the amount
as you had listed in your post. that is to prevent that she never
pay the bill again.
