I visited the casino recently and paid the levy. Then I searched
and realize the levy is being paid to the Singapore government and
the casino do not even keep a single cent of it. Below is something
I got from searching the net and it's quite interesting to note
these facts... and yet Singaporeans believe the levy is actually
meant to discourage gambling...
Our Gov is trying to discourage we people to gamble.. THINK
AGAIN!
Casino want to impose $100 Levy? BUT!
Why dont they impose $100 levy on their Singapore Pool or Turf
Club?
Why the age limit is only 18 instead of 21?
Why Singapore Pool come out more and more betting type. Last time
dont have those scratch and win card. Soccer bets...
Why they start more draw for 4D (Last time only Sat and Sun) Now
Wed also have.
Why they call punters on the phone and ask why they stop betting or
have not bet a long time?
So while the government talks about discouraging gambling, their
actions is actually asking Singaporeans to continue gamble as long
as the government makes money. =D
