For beginners, who have an interest in Massage and have thoughts
of joining the industry, I highly reccomend you to take up the
ITEC Diploma in Holistic Massage course. This is
the foundation course you should take before you branch out to take
'advance' courses such as Aromatherapy, MLD (Manual Lymphatic
Drainage), Sports, Tui Na, MFR and CST.
The ITEC Dip. in Holistic Massage comprises of 3 modules as
follow:
1. Core Subjects (Business
Awareness & Professional Conduct)
2. Anatomy & Physiology of
the Human Body
3. Massage Theory and
Practical Swedish Massage
Every module is examinable by ITEC, which means that the
examiners will be from ITEC, London, UK. They will come down to
your school to do an examination. On top of the exam for the 3
modules, you will have to do a case study
comprising of 20 treatments in total - 5
Clients, 4 Treatments Each, describing your treatment
plan, how the client feels etc.
After you pass your ITEC Dip. in Holistic Massage, you
can branch out to the advance courses to which interest you more.
(I would say that most advance courses, and if you want to open
your own practice, you will need the ITEC Dip. in Holistic Massage
as a foundation.)
