STOMPer Belinda and her
classmates felt that they were discriminated at Café Cartel simply
because they wore their school uniform to dine there.
In an email to STOMP today (Nov 16), the STOMPer wrote:
"Today, I was with my classmates at Cafe Cartel Plaza
Singapura.
“The restaurant was very crowded and we were the only students
there.
“I asked for an extra bowl and it never came, our spaghetti dish
never arrived until we were talking about posting it on STOMP.
“Food arrived at the other tables fast but our numerous requests
were not met.
“We feel that it is discrimination against students as we were the
only students there and this is not the first time we were given
poor service at a restaurant (that does not offer student meal)
because we were in uniform.
“We are very unhappy that students should receive poorer service
even if they feel that our presence would bring down the image of
their restaurant.”
Its common.
Singapore practices some sort of class system here.
