Well that time when I went in hospital because of a hole in my lungs (maybe smoke too much -__-), there was this elderly man in the bed infront of me... I asked him why he came in...

He said 1 day his doctor asked him to smoke less, so the next day he completely stopped... Then heart attack came on the 3rd day -___-

If u're dependent on ciggies and u're elderly, I suggest u smoke less instead of quitting immediately... Ur body cant take it... -___-

hey detachee, i decided to stop smoking on 11th Jan. no reason in particular just wanted to see how far i can go. i had been smoking for about the same number of years as you. the 1st 2 weeks was horrible. and now it is 4th March and i did not touch a single cigarette. and i still have my lighter at home. in addition, i won a treat from somebody cos i managed to stay smoke free for a month.

the first few days i felt like giving up but i though i cant possibly be so weak as to give up so easily after just a few days of not smoking. and time went by without me really taking note of it. and now if i think of smoking i just think to myself i cant possibly be so silly as to smoke now and let all my efforts since 11th Jan go to waste. and now smoke free i can complete my jog without "dying" and i got more money in my wallet. however i spent most of them away on more food. the doc says i got alot of cholesterol in my blood (i dont really eat fruits and veg and like to eat fried oily food)but who cares) good luck.

Day 2, 11.11pm - OH NOES I SMOKED!!! Relax, friends.. I've been clean for roughly 33 hours now.. Everytime I feel like taking a smoke, I'd just sniff the vicks inhaler I actually accompanied my colleagues for their smoke breaks today... and surprisingly I had the power of will to stay clean

If I managed to stay clean for 1 month - I'd reward myself with a 300 bucks backpack...

If I managed to stay clean for 2 months - I'd reward myself with a ring

If I managed to stay clean for 3 months - a bike license and a bike

On top of that, someone said that if I can quit successfully.. I can have anything I want

Don't be too eager to make real deals. If something unfortunate happens, or if you, then, give up (not that I have low hopes for you) and you have to honour your words. You'll just make things hard for yourself.

Do this carefreely, and for the sake of your own future. That's the best reward.
