I suggest this. Before the big day, you liaise with a good shop.
Pick a few you like within your budget. Like a huge range, size
don't matter first. On the day itself after/before meal, you bring
her there, they take out the few which you choose, ask your mom
which would she honestly like.
And of course, give her a choice. If she doesn't like, she can
choose from the ones you have not chosen also. But remember your
budget.
Heck, best. Just pick everything within your budget and show
her. Then choose.
and dont let the mother see the invoice/price tag or bill.
most will pick the cheapest one just so her son wont be 'wasting
money'.
