2m-long snake
found at NTU dormitory
SINGAPORE: A two-metre-long snake, believed to be a reticulated
python, was seen at an undergraduate dormitory within the Nanyang
Technological University (NTU) campus early on Wednesday morning
(Oct 12).
Mechanical Engineering undergraduate Lucas Leong, who stays at
NTU Hall of Residence 15, was alerted to it after his roommate
spotted the reptile on his way to the washroom at 2.20am.
Mr Leong, whose room is on the ground floor of Block 72, said:
"When we saw the python, we all ran for our phones and started
taking pictures. It was good stuff."
The 22-year-old said the python slithered from the corridor to
the washroom.
Mr Leong said he and his neighbours informed NTU's campus
security about the python.
The university said in a statement that the snake was captured
and taken away by staff from a pest control service at around 3am.
"No one was injured in the incident," NTU added.
