The Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA) "will not hesitate
to act" against rule-breakers who try to fleece the national scheme
to upgrade Singaporeans' skills, a spokesman said.
On Wednesday (May 11), WDA posted on Facebook that "some
individuals / organisations have reached out to members of the
public offering cash in exchange for the use of their SkillsFuture
Credit."
"WDA takes a serious view of any individual or organisation that
abuses the SkillsFuture Credit scheme," the spokesman added,
referring to the $500 credit given to all Singaporeans aged 25 and
above to go for approved courses. The scheme, which was announced
during the Budget last year, kicked in at the start of this
year.
The spokesman also urged people to report to WDA through its
feedback portal or the official SkillsFuture Facebook page if they had been
contacted with suspicious offers.
