Watch boutique
employee arrested for theft of S$305,000 worth of
timepieces
SINGAPORE: A 26-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly
stealing luxury watches worth more than S$305,000 from a watch
boutique where he is employed.
In a news release issued on Friday (May 6), the Singapore Police
Force (SPF) said it received a report at about 1.40am on Wednesday
that four watches had gone missing. Channel NewsAsia understands
the boutique in question is at Marina Bay Sands mall.
The suspect was arrested on Friday afternoon at Yung Ping Road
in Jurong and the four watches have been recovered.
Authorities said the suspect will be charged with theft on
Saturday, and faces seven years in jail and a fine.
