A 37-year-old woman jumped off an overhead bridge along the
Pan Island Expressway (PIE) this afternoon (Apr 22) at around
12.40pm.
Stomper Azhar received photos
of what happened via WhatsApp and forwarded them to Stomp.
In one of the photos, the woman can be seen lying on the road. A
traffic police officer and members of the public
were attending to her.
Another photo shows police vehicles and an ambulance under the
bridge where the woman jumped.
Said a police spokesperson with regards to what happened:
"Police received a call on 22 April 2016 at about 12.40pm
requesting for assistance along the PIE towards Changi near the
Eunos exit.
"Upon arrival, it was established that a case of attempted suicide
had occurred at the said location.
"The 37-year-old was conveyed conscious to Changi General
Hospital.
"Police investigations are ongoing."
