Singapore has been ranked the 24th happiest country in the world
for 2012-2014, according to the World Happiness Report 2015.
Switzerland came in tops, followed by Iceland and Denmark.
Singapore joins New Zealand (9th) and Australia (10th) in the top
25 spots of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Solutions
Network report.
Other Asian countries and territories that made it to the top 50
are Thailand (34th), Taiwan (38th), Japan (46th) and South Korea
(47th).
The objective of the report is to be a "proper measure of social
progress and a goal of public policy".
The ranking is made up of factors such as gross domestic product
per capita, social support, life expectancy, freedom to make life
choices, freedom from corruption and generosity.
