Nobody has answered the conflict of interest question.
What happens if the MP lawyer wins the case?
What happens if he loses the case?
"Conflict of Interest" ---Erhmm, this must be the understatement of
the year.
The CHC case has international exposure. The international
community will not understand that an active (although part-time)
Member of Parliament is a lawyer, in a case against Parliament (or
do you think the international community will see COC as a separate
entity???)
In the very unlikely event of Kong Hee being innocent... this would
mean the MP won the case against his boss...Let's just hope that he
gets paid enough to leave S'Pore in case LKY gets too pissed off,
as in this case, the joke would be on Singapore. I repeat, not Kong
Hee, the joke would be on Singapore.
The good part, the WP can claim that KH and PAP are working
together.
In the more obvious case of Kong Hee being guilty as charged. Same
as above. I hope the MP gets enough money as he might have pissed
off the boss. In addition, would you want to hire a lawyer with
this type of integrity?
What about some other questions...
What should the punishment be for Kong Hee in case he is guilty as
charged?
Shall we organise a vote?
If Kong Hee is guilty as charged, the punishment should be:
1. Lifelong - 500 Million - 10 strokes per year - daily shower with
the lads
2. 20 years - 400 Milllion - 5 strokes per year - weekly shower
with the lads
3. 10 years - 100 Million - 1 stroke per year - monthly shower with
the lads
4. 5 years - 50 Million - 10 strokes - yearly shower with the
lads
5. 3 years - 50 Million - 5 strokes - no shower
6. 1 year - 50 Million - 2 strokes
7. 6 months - 50 Million - 1 stroke
8. no time - 50 Million - no stroke
I vote for option 1.
