this is the plight of a liberal, vain and materialistic
society
when you are too desperate for success/status/fame/wealth, you
will do anything to achieve it at all costs
i won't be surprised if i hear the defensive cliche from the
student
"i did nothing wrong! i earned my achievement from my own
capability...i worked hard and sacrificed for it"
