SINGAPORE: Business at several stores in Plaza
Singapura were hit by flooding on Saturday
afternoon.
CapitaMalls Asia, which owns Plaza Singapura, said
unusually heavy rain caused water to leak from a section of the
building's carpark.
A hotline caller said her beauty parlour was
affected at about 1.30pm, and that the incident would cost her
about S$2,000 in repair work and loss of revenue.
Others that were affected included supermarket giant
Carrefour.
Cindy Ee, a shopowner at Plaza Singapura, said: "We had to stop
whatever we were doing. Our customers were also very displeased.
They were preparing to leave. Those who were supposed to come
later, they had a fall while while coming into the mall."
