I don't understand. How Mr Lee is able to relate the growth in foreign workers to growing the economy? Is Singapore planning to become a low tech manufacturing orientated country or high knowledge based economy? Because I see a lot of the so-called foreign talent imported are low skilled. If Singapore plans to compete with China on manufacturing then ultimately Singapore will lose out. Singapore has got to differentiate itself from the rest of its competitors and this means moving away from low-skilled based economy.

Importing too many foreign workers will also hurt the singaporean economy because when there is a downturn, the government is unable to send back all the foreign workers causing a glut in the supply of jobs.

As far as I am concerned, all the shit talking doesnt solve any problem.

What is the reason people are having little babies? It's the high cost of living.

Is the government doing anything to sovle it? Obviously not. They just continue siphoning monies from the common folks and live the high life. Then when population decrease, they blame it on the commoners not having enough babies, personal lifestyle choices when they didnt consider that costs of living is a factor.

Then u have all these foreigners coming in as compeition making looking for jobs difficult. So either way, Singaporeans are doomed.

Look at the swiss, why is it growing (albeit slowly) despite it being very hard for foreigners to come in? They are renumerated fairly well for them to enjoy time with family and have children to support the economy
