about this - people have all the freedom to look, just as how
they have all the freedom to talk. Sometimes when you think that
people are talking about you when you see them having a hushed
conversation without you, maybe you're thinking too much. Same
thing, when people stare at you, there's more than one possibility
why they're doing so.
Fine, do the SlutWalk, express that you don't like to be stared
at, but there is only so much ... such things ... can do.
Go take a self-defence course.
My sentiments exactly.
Singapore may still be one of the more conservative modern
countries around, but this whole SlutWalk business is just
hypocritical and a big joke.
Dress whatever way you wish in public, you'll invite stares
(unnerving or otherwise) in public too- both are within the
boundaries of the law.
Encouraging females to be empowered by being labelled a "slut" or
protesting for their rights to be called a "slut" is in no way
going change anything or stop the blaming of rape victims for their
own misfortunes. And dressing up more provocatively certainly
doesn't help anything, either.
