One thing I dont understand is the girl part.

In the first place why want to meet that stranger in the house and with 2 guys friends tagged along??? She'e asking for trouble only.

And 1 guy should stay behind and not both seek help.

Why the 2 guy never call 999 asap?

But this is caning AND jail sentence... probably kids think that getting caned makes them appear cooler and more 'badass' in front of other schoolmates.

This guy is an adult, who is he gonna 'show off' to? After caning, he will be in a prison cell for 13 years with other criminals.

Adults different from kids... kids have strange behavioural patterns due to their immaturity I guess? Hahaha

You can actually generalise to this extent? So I guess people make little mistakes like raping little girls every day, no big deal right?

Forcing himself into the apartment, outraging her modesty, a little confrontation with the victim's male friends, followed by rape. All this preceded by a string of lewd smses over a period of weeks. Sounds like a chain of wrongdoings that took place over a long period of time. Not exactly an act of impulse.

1.Challenge that beast into calling the cops if he doesn’t leave the room immediately.

2. Alert the piano teacher and the girl’s brother.

3. Either me or friend go to nearby fire post, of course 1 must stay!!!

This case is no example of your 'adage' though, simply because it is less an 'accidental mistake' than it is a cold calculated effort to satisfy his desires at the expense of others.

I have no problem seeing this, save for the fact that its presence here suggests that we should look upon this matter lightly and 'forgive' him somehow.
