TWO days after molesting his teenage sister-in-law, a man went
on to touch his eight-year-old stepdaughter.
The 39-year-old man earlier pleaded guilty to two counts of
outrage of modesty and one charge of drug consumption. Another
molestation charge was consiered during his sentencing.
A district court heard that the accused's 14-year-old
sister-in-law was in the living room watching television and
talking on the phone when he came and stroked her thigh. He also
kissed her on the cheek.
Two days later, he molested his young stepdaughter, who was
watching television at the time.
Investigation showed that he had also touched the girl
improperly on a few previous occasions.
District Judge Jasbendar Kaur agreed with the prosecution that
his conduct was reprehensible. She jailed the cleaner seven years
and six strokes for taking morphine in February, and a total of 21
months and three strokes on the two molestation charges. All the
sentences are consecutive.
